The simulations at the Rush Sim Center replicate hundreds of real-life environments practitioners may encounter in a medical setting. Whether working as a healthcare team or an individual, simulating real-life medical emergencies and procedures help practitioners better respond and care for patients.
STANDARDIZED PATIENTS
The Rush Sim Center has a pool of over 100 standardized patients, or live actors, that participate in simulations. Learn more about clinical education acting and how they’re helping medical professionals hone important skills before treating real patients.
SRNA SIMULATION
In this SRNA (State Registered Nurse Aide) simulation, a group of students conducted an anesthetic induction for a patient with aortic stenosis, planned out an anesthesia care plan for the patient (a high fidelity mannequin), and practiced putting the patient onto cardiac bypass.
DART SIMULATION
The critical care outreach team and nursing staff at Rush University hosts a monthly workshop called DART (Decompensation Assessment Recognition Treatment). During this simulation, medical surgical nurses and IMCU nurses participate in mock rapid response scenarios.
